Van Boerner
Van has been a fixture in Texas skeet for over 25 years and has been selected to the Texas Open All-State Team 22 times with the last 21 years in a row – 12 of which have been to the Open First Team. In 2013, he was the number one shooter in the state garnishing the coveted title of Open First Team Captain. He is a multi-time Texas Skeet Champion including winning the High Overall title in 2012. Van’s accomplishments on the national stage include HOA Runner-Up World Champion in 2012, 20 Gauge Runner-Up World Champion in 2017, and 410-Gauge 3rd in 2010. He has been selected to 9 NSSA Open All American teams including a spot on the Open First Team in 2013.
Van is not only an excellent competitor, he has also given a great deal back to the game. A TSSA Director for over a decade, he helped run our State Championships twice. He has been the Chief Referee of the Armed Services Skeet Championships and has also been the Skeet Chairman at the San Antonio Gun Club. Van has coached the Trinity Trap & Skeet Team for over 20 years and taught hundreds of college students to enjoy the clay target sports. A true gentleman of the game and always willing to share, he has mentored more than one shooter to reach world championship status.
