Diana Stumberg
Diana Stumberg, a four-time World lady champ, fine-tuned her game under the instruction of the late Col. Tom Hanzel, coach of the Trinity University Skeet Team. She registered her first targets in 1983, shooting out of her home town of San Antonio, Texas.
In 1986, Diana captured her initial lady world title in the doubles event. The following year she came back to win the world lady .410 and 20 gauge events plus the high overall with 540×550. In Texas State competition, Diana’s biggest year was 1988 when she won the state lady 12, 20, 28 and HOA titles. In 1989, she sealed the lady doubles, 28 gauge and .410 events and in 1993, she won the lady 20 gauge event. Her outstanding shooting landed her on the Texas Open Second Team in 1989 and 1991, the same year she was held the highest average of
any Texas lady shooters. She was selected as captain of the Texas State Ladies Team in 1987, ‘88, ‘90 and ‘94.
Diana was a member of the San Antonio G un Club, serving on the Board of Directors and was the first woman to officiate as president of the club.
